Evil Ed – Edstrumentals Volume 3
It’s been almost 10 years since UK Hip-Hop producer Evil Ed released his critically-acclaimed album The Enthusiast which featured the cream of UK MC’s including Jehst, Yungun, Doc Brown and Kyza. Since then he has been busy releasing tracks on his own Hidden Identity label, producing an album for Conspicuous, doing mixtapes with K-Delight, regular vinyl-only podcasts for Dusty Platter, and remixing many artists.
He is now back with the third instalment of Edstrumentals, the cleverly named series of albums featuring instrumentals of his back catalogue, bundled together with unreleased and special bonus beats.
Ed is a perfectionist and each beat has been slaved over until it is just right. However Ed’s skill is making each beat sound effortless as it infiltrates your ears and subconscious and gets your head nodding. It is classic UK Hip Hop with samples digging at its heart from his huge collection of jazz, funk and soul records layered over heavy beats.
This volume features another 20 beats with standout tracks being Have You Forgotten, Classic Writers Remix and The Ed Zone. It also includes three unreleased tracks and three bonus beats. This is a must for any Hip Hop fan.
2014 also promises a new EP and an interview with myself so watch this space for more from Evil Ed.
Edstrumentals Volume 3 is out on now from Dusty Platter. You can check out more tracks on Evil Ed’s Soundcloud.
