Get DISCOVERED at Sydney’s Marble Bar

Everybody loves being at the forefront of awesome new music and engaging with it via social media, right? No, we’re not talking about Spotify, silly, that is sooooo 2012. There’s this new social media-driven competition that you should know about that’s taking over Marble Bar in Sydney for all creative music people and admirers alike.

DISCOVERED is a platform for live bands and performers to upload their demos through Marble Bar’s Facebook page in the hope of winning the coveted prize of a two-month residency at Sydney’s iconic Marble Bar. The general public will judge the contestants and, by their vote (via Facebook), the top five finalists will be selected. These five acts will then battle it out live at a finale showcase at Marble Bar on Wednesday 26 March. Don’t worry, this isn’t The Voice. There won’t be any swivelling chairs of judgement/ridicule.

These top five acts will perform in front of a panel of judges and various industry figures. The winner will then be selected by the public’s vote in conjunction with the team of expert judges. The victorious act will win a two month residency playing every Wednesday night at Marble Bar from April 2014, valued at a tasty $10,000.

If you’re not sure of your way round a guitar/sitar or saxaphone, you can still take part and vote via Marble Bar Facebook from 6 March 2014 – 19 March 2014.
