Art: Madeleine Pfull and William Meadley
Madeleine Pfull and William Meadley are a couple of up-and-coming Sydney-based artists, studying at the Sydney College of the Art. Their combined interest in portraying the human condition through the medium of painting and drawing has led them to put on a show, entitled Your Ego.
Your Ego is a satirical exhibition that explores the strange and stupid ways our egos manipulate us into behaving in different social situations. The artists explore both the positive and negative aspects of the human ego in the 21st century; from overconfidence to a needy sense of unimportance.
The exhibition, through experimental use of painting and drawing, presents an exploration of social media’s world of ego stroking and individual egos of the everyday.
If you’re in Sydney, you can check the exhibition out at The Tate Gallery in Glebe this coming April. The opening night is the 2nd of April at 6pm and the exhibition then runs daily (12pm-6pm) until 6th April. The Tate Gallery can be found at 345 Glebe Point Road.
