New Music: Jamie xx – Sleep Sound

Our jealousness levels escalated incredibly rapidly when we discovered that The xx are currently in the process of playing twenty-five intimate shows to just forty people per show in New York. It’d be pretty amazing to be at one of those gigs, right? Oh to be in the in crowd. Still, we can at least cheer ourselves up in the knowledge that Jamie xx is set to unleash a brand new AA-sided single.

The single – which will be available on 12” vinyl and download – features two songs, Girl and Sleep Sound. You can stream the latter above.

The single will be released on 5th May 2014 via Young Turks and will be Jamie xx’s first solo release since 2011, when he hit us with his debut single, Far Nearer, as well as We’re New Here, his collaborative reinterpretation of Gil Scott-Heron’s I’m New Here album.
