Comeback Kid announce Wake The Dead 20th Anniversary Aus tour

Canada’s hardcore torchbearers Comeback Kid are set to return to Australia in 2026 for a thunderous run of shows celebrating 20 years of their seminal album, Wake the Dead. This isn’t just another tour, it’s a full-blown, high-octane anniversary celebration of one of modern hardcore’s most defining records.
Joining them for the ride is GRIDIRON, the crushing Pennsylvania/Detroit crossover kings fusing hardcore with street-level rap swagger, and Sydney’s own PHANTOMS, one of Australia’s hardest-hitting underground acts flying the flag for fast, gritty, and unapologetic hardcore.
WAKE THE DEAD: A MODERN HARDCORE CLASSIC
Originally released in 2005, Wake the Dead marked a pivotal moment for Comeback Kid—and the hardcore scene as a whole. Their second full-length album, and the first to feature Andrew Neufeld on vocals, Wake the Dead catapulted the band from cult-favorite status to international acclaim.
Fueled by anthemic choruses, galloping rhythms, and relentless positivity in the face of struggle, tracks like “Wake the Dead,” “False Idols Fall,” and “Partners in Crime” became instant staples in mosh pits across the globe. Produced by Bill Stevenson (Descendents, Black Flag), the album blends hardcore urgency with melodic clarity, helping pave the way for a new generation of bands to blur the lines between aggression and accessibility.
Fast forward two decades, and the legacy of Wake the Dead is stronger than ever. This 2026 tour will see Comeback Kid perform the album in full, along with other fan favorites.
A STACKED LINEUP: HARDCORE’S PAST, PRESENT & FUTURE
Gridiron will be making their long-overdue Australian debut on this tour. Known for their raw, riff-heavy blend of beatdown hardcore and hip-hop, Gridiron’s 2022 album No Good At Goodbyes made serious waves in the scene and cemented their rep as one of the genre’s most exciting new forces.
Phantoms, fresh off their latest EP and a string of chaotic live shows, represent the next generation of Aussie hardcore. Bringing ferocity and authenticity to every set, they’re the perfect homegrown addition to this stacked lineup.
