Getting to Know Lunatics on Pogosticks
Melbourne-based Lunatics on Pogosticks have recently released a new EP. We asked bassist Bryce Wilson to tell us more about the band:
Lunatics On Pogosticks are just a few teens having a fun time trying to make it in this crazy music scene. It’s really something we all enjoy to the max.
“Slug Cat & Snail Dog” is our first legit EP. All the songs are so old to us now because we’ve been sitting on them for what feels like forever. It’s our first EP where every band member has played on it (we used to be a two-piece back in the day). We’re super excited to have it out there now up in ya grill.
Melbourne is THE BEST CITY IN THE WORLD. Some of our best gigs have been there and there’s so many mega cool up-and-coming bands. We all live within 500 metres of each other in separate apartments – [vocalist] Calum and I actually live across the hall – so we’re always up in each other’s grill writing tunez.
We spend too much time re-enacting scenes from Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job at our local café, and being generally unorganised.
Our East Coast tour will be ALL TIME it’s our first tour ever so we’re insanely excited to hit the road and get our name out there. Our first time in Adelaide!
It might surprise people to learn that we’re all country bumpkins at heart. We grew up in Lennox Head, a small town on north coast NSW and it’s for sure our favourite place to be (next to Melbourne).
In the future hopefully the Macca’s wifi will work properly on our phones.
