Getting to Know Whinnie Williams
British singer Whinnie Williams is set to release her debut EP, “Bad Girl”, in October. Written in collaboration with Future Cut, the power-production duo behind some mega-hits from the likes of Lily Allen and Dizzee Rascal, the record draws on 1960s influences – from her fave chanteuses to the orchestral arrangements of Andrew Oldham Orchestra, via nods to The Stones and The Kinks. We wanted to find out a bit more about her, so here she is, in her own words:
I am Sasha Fierce!! Not really, I’m Whinnie Williams, AKA Brigitte Bardot and Del Boy’s love child!
Bad Girl is girl next door after heartbreak.
I’m currently listening to Iggy Azalea.
I spend too much time Googling poodles.
It might surprise people to learn that I’ve done a taxidermy course, adopted a dog from Romania and done a fire walk.
My plans for the rest of 2014 include being scatty, writing songs, falling in love and making more music videos.
I’d like to turn to world veggie, have an animal sanctuary, host a massive annual lunch for the elderly on Christmas Day and have a successful album.
“Bad Girl”, the debut EP from Whinnie Williams is out October 6 via Night Beach in digital and limited edition 7″ vinyl. Pre-order the EP here. It includes the brand new single “Oopsie Daisy”, the video for which dropped today. Check it below…
