Airling live in Sydney – Photos
Purveyor of dirt-encrusted R&B, Airling (aka. Hannah Shepherd), recently released her new album ‘Love Gracefully’ and celebrated with a handful of shows around Australia, including a visit to Sydney’s Brighton Up Bar.
It’s been a busy year forBrisbane-based Airling. She performed at Splendour In The Grass after winning the coveted Triple J Unearthed competition and had a string of national support dates for the likes of James Vincent McMorrow, Ásgeir and The Paper Kites. She was also the first artist signed to Big Scary’s Pieater imprint and said about her work: “I just want to create music that I would want to listen to… and if what I’m making inspires real and instinctual emotion from the people who experience it, whether that be positive or negative things, then I’ll be happy.”
Support on the night came from Jamaican-born, US-raised Australian, Jasia (Josiah Willows). Josh is a classically trained vocalist, violinist and guitarist. We sent photographer Philip Erbacher along to Brighton Up Bar to catch Jasia and Airling live. Here are his shots. Click to enlarge.
