Sydney’s White Ribbon Walk
Unless you’ve recently crawled out from under a rock, you’ll understand the importance of the continued desire to raise awareness among Australian men/boys about the roles they can play to prevent violence against women.
So, if you don’t already, then you should know about The White Ribbon Campaign – the only national violence prevention campaign which calls for men across Australia to speak out and take an oath. An oath swearing never to commit, excuse or remain silent about violence against women.
There’s gonna be a White Ribbon Walk in Sydney on November 25th, which happens to be White Ribbon Day. The general public (that’s you) can walk from Highcross Park in Randwick down Coogee Bay Road (streets blocked off) to Grant Reserve in Coogee, where there will be speeches by White Ribbon Ambassadors and a free breakfast (doing your bit for an important cause and getting fed for free… double winner).
Special White Ribbon Walk shirts will be available for purchase for a tenner at High Cross Park and money raised will go directly to White Ribbon Australia. Emergency services and military personnel will head the march, joined by White Ribbon Ambassadors and supporters.
So head along and support this fine cause. It will make you feel like the good human that you are.
