Marking the start of the Bastille Day weekend, the BBR French World Festival will be held at Customs House Foreshore, Circular Quay and is quickly becoming one of Sydney’s finest, having established itself as a chic and unique showcase of France.
This year, three French-speaking countries, Belgium, French Canada and Switzerland have been invited to take part in the festivities showcasing their finest products, cultural festivities and tourism activities their village has to offer.
The event, which is held between July 10 – 12th is a celebration of all things Red, White, and Blue with splashes of music, art, food and entertainment painting a vibrant array of French culture.
One of this year’s festival highlights include a French Cooking masterclass tent where guests can learn how to cook French cuisine, watch chef demonstrations from talented French, Canadian, Belgian and Swiss Chefs who will create traditional meals and desserts using fresh ingredients acquired from the festival market. This year, the festival includes a distinguished chef who specialises in cooking with seasonal truffles.
Friday evening kicks of the BBR French World Festival celebrations with a free Grand Opening Night performance by The Tattooed Tenor (Mathew Garwood, The Voice) followed by cabaret and to finish off an open-air cinema showcasing some much loved French classics.
