Pop Up Screens returns for summer!
Hey England… you see that big yellow thing in the sky? Remember it? It’s that rather rare visitor, the sun, which means that summer is here! And what better way to spend a warm evening than at the awesome Pop Up Screens, which returns with an epic program of classic films?
Bishops Park in Fulham, Greenwich Peninsula, Coram’s Field, Ravenscourt Park in Hammersmith, Manor House Gardens in Hither Green and East Greenwich Pleasaunce will all provide the perfect alfresco set(ting) for this summer’s screenings.
This year, Pop Up Screens have also announced that they will be taking over the courtyard of the city’s historic Guildhall in EC2 for seven nights in August. This will include a special screening of the mighty Gladiator where visitors will get the chance to see the Guildhall’s amazing Roman Amphitheatre.
If you’re up for a laugh there are classic comedies, including Anchorman and Four Weddings, or if you’re keen for some retro classics there’s Top Gun, Bueller and Back To The Future. How about getting your dino on with Jurassic World? Or you could watch the hilarious Deadpool or the new Star Wars movie for the twentieth time. Then there’s Pretty Woman, Pitch Perfect or The Notebook, if that’s more your thang.
Tickets are a ridiculously well-priced 12 quid for adults and half that for children. You can bag yourself a weekend ticket for £25 and you’re welcome to bring blankets, beanbags and cushions or you can hire a director’s chair for £2. There will of course be popcorn from Drum and Kernel, burgers and craft beer on offer and you can bring your own drinks and snacks too! No gimmicks, no, stunts, just a field full of likeminded people and great films. Perfect!
Check out the full programme and book your tickets over at the Pop Up Screens website! See you there!
