Photo Diary: Perch Creek on tour
Fresh from a huge Canadian tour, Melbourne’s Perch Creek (formerly known as Perch Creek Family Jug Band) are playing at Newtown Social Club in Sydney tonight and Howler in Melbourne tomorrow. They’ll be premiering some of their songs from the forthcoming album out early next year. To wet our whistles, they have sent us a little photo diary of their time overseas. Here they are:
Making new friends at Winnipeg Folk Festival – Perch Creek with Blind Boy Paxton:
As Melbourne struggles through it’s coldest winter in 26 years, Perch Creek get some relief from the heat under a refreshing cold shower. [Winnipeg Folk Festival]
Airline logistics – We quickly realised that the only way to avoid exorbitant baggage fees in North America was to chuck all our instruments into a couple of massive hockey bags. [Winnipeg, MB]
Performing at a random house concert in Chilliwack, outside of Vancouver, BC. So much beautiful scenery and lovely people!
Eileen strutting like mad as we perform Where You Been at Vancouver Folk Festival.
Crowds catch some evening sun at the scenic grounds of the Vancouver Folk Festival.
Even rock stars like us aren’t too cool for matching electric blue helmets. [Stanley Park, Vancouver]
Catching a private ferry to the artist’s lounge at Hillside Festival. Camilla looks chuffed, while Christi appears to be suffering from sea sickness… [Guelph, ON]
A panorama of Hillside Festival, which is held on a small island in a nature reserve.
What you see is what you get at Jack White’s Nashville record store – the sign says “4 poses”, and that’s just what you see….
