Free Download: Kid Kenobi x Pretty Shady

You may recall we’ve featured Pretty Shady – the social awareness campaign encouraging young Australians to help stop skin cancer one summer at a time – numerous times before at Something You Said. We dig what they do, you see, and the way that they do it. So we’re excited to tell you about the latest interesting thing they’ve come up with.

Pretty Shady has teamed up with legendary Australian DJ/producer Kid Kenobi to create a track for summer, entitled ‘Sunshine’. The tune, featuring Australian vocalist Andrea Kirwin, is currently being given away as a free download before receiving an official release on Kenobi’s record label Klub Kids via digital retailers and streaming platforms.

Kid Kenobi says, “The track itself is a celebration of the sunshine but at the same time (via Andrea Kiriwin’s lyrics) it’s also about the dangers of the sun and not protecting yourself from it (‘we love the sunshine but it’s the reason we burn…’)”

So grab the download while it’s free and keep your eyes peeled for a remix competition too. And remember, if you’re going out in the sun, seek shade (particularly during the hours of 11am-3pm when the sun’s UV rays are their harshest), wear clothes which cover as much of your skin as possible, along with a hat, sunnies and sunscreen.
