Our Top 5 Acts to see at Stone Free Festival
It’s time to dust off that denim jacket with all those sewn-on patches as Something You Said looks ahead to the Stone Free Festival, held at the London O2 on the weekend of June 18th and 19th. Here are five acts not to miss. We’ll see you all down at the mosh pit. Rock on!
Marillion
With new album F.E.A.R. nearly completed, Marillion will be for many, the highlight of this years Stone Free festival at the O2 in London. For the uninitiated, this will be a great introduction to the band and their stunning live show. Fresh from touring South America, they will no doubt be firing on all cylinders for this gig. A must see!
Therapy?
Northern Ireland’s finest punk/metal three piece Therapy? will give a spiky edge to the Stone Free stage with their formidable live set. Armed with a cannon of hard-hitting, yet catchy, ear worm songs, they have been consistently making fine albums from Babyteeth in 1991 right up to 2015’s Disquiet.
The Darkness
Anyone who was lucky to witness the ridiculously, flamboyant, testosterone fuelled, fun fest that was The Darkness first time around will be delighted to see the original line up back together. After rocking Download in 2014, Stone Free Festival will be a great chance to check out Justin Hawkins and co. in their rejuvenated pomp.
Alice Cooper
Nothing really needs to be said here, other than, it’s Alice Cooper! Legendary live shows that needs to be seen to believe. Stone Free Festival truly have a headliner of monumental stature.
Steve Hackett
There will be guitar heroics a-plenty when ex-Genesis and acclaimed solo artist Steve Hackett graces the Stone Free Festival stage. Fresh from the critical and commercial success of his Wolflight album, Steve will play the usual mix of new material alongside Genesis classics and solo gems. Can we also expect a few surprise guests?
So what are you waiting for? The Stone Free Festival may well just blow the lid of the O2. It would be something to tell your kids, “I was there!”
