Video Premiere: ESSIE – Someone

We’re excited to today premiere the new video from ESSIE.

In case you aren’t yet familiar with ESSIE, here’s what you need to know. She is alt/rock guitar player and vocalist Essie Laugharne, who hails from Perth, Western Australia yet currently resides in London, where she and her band are regulars on the live scene.

Following on from the release of her mini EP, Not Easy, comes new single, “Someone”.  It was penned during ESSIE’s university days, before being re-vamped with a fresh set of lyrics in 2016. “This song is a typical break-up story, but with gritty undertones of the sorrow and melancholy that can come with the territory,” she explains.

The song draws influence from the likes of Arctic Monkeys and Band of Skulls, and offers soaring vocals over growling guitar riffs, punchy drums and backbone bass.
