Music interview: Getting to Know SAATSUMA
Melbourne electronic duo SAATSUMA are playing a couple of live shows this week, having just dropped their new single Stay. We asked Memphis Kelly from the band to tell us more:
We are… the perfect combination of sxc and cute.
Stay is… our new single, which explores the irrationality of desire; the idea of losing yourself in the blinding process of process of getting what you want.
Our upcoming live shows will be… a little different to usual. To celebrate the release of ‘Stay’ and our upcoming album ‘Overflow’, we’re curating an art and music showcase at SPURS gallery on Sunday the 9th of July. The event will feature a live set by SAATSUMA, an exclusive first listen of our album, a retrospect exhibition curated by Ajay Jennings as well as live djs and cheapo beers. It’s gonna be pretty spesh, you should come!!!
Home is… Melbourne, what a place :’)
We spend too much time… sending emails. Anyone wanna be our admin angel???
We’ve never… not enjoyed prosecco.
It might surprise people to learn that… PRUNES ARE DRIED PLUMS!?!?!?!?!?
In the future… it will be the present.
