Getting to know Papaya Tree

Papaya Tree have just released their new single ‘Youth’. We asked them to tell us about themselves:

We are… Papaya Tree, a six-piece band with horns from Sydney, Australia.

Youth is… our third single, which addresses the fact that no matter which direction we steer our lives in, we are destined to make the same mistakes and experience the same tribulations as our parents. To put it in simpletons terms, it explores the age-old wives tale that the ‘apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.’

Home is… a place for ideas, reflection and safety, but a place you cannot become too absorbed or comfortable with.

We spend to much time… yelling at each other about how we need to rehearse.

We’ve never… come back from an Australia tour without a fine of some description.

It might surprise people to learn that… we’ve actually rehearsed once or twice.
