Our top ten tunes of the week – December 13
Here are the songs that we’ve had on regular rotation over the past few days:
1. Mercury Rev – Big Boss Man (featuring Hope Sandoval)
Mercury Rev have shared a new track from Bobbie Gentry’s The Delta Sweete Revisited – their track-by-track resurrection of Bobbie Gentry’s 1968 long-overlooked masterwork, The Delta Sweete. Hope Sandoval from Mazzy Star provides vocals.
2. The Prodigy – Timebomb Zone
Again teaming up with Paco Raterta, The Prodigy have revealed the visuals for their latest single ‘Timebomb Zone’ from their seventh studio album, ‘No Tourists’.
3. Grace Turner – Easy I Fall
The opening line on this new track from the Newcastle based singer-songwriter is a little NSFW, but the song really hits you right in the feels.
4. MorMor – Pass The Hours
Along with this new track, MorMor has announced a series of headline tour dates across Europe and North America in 2019. Following a European jaunt that launches in late March, he will return to the US for a 12-date tour.
5. No Mono – Unchained Melody
Check this cover of the the beloved 1955 classic.
6. Snapped Ankles – Drink and Glide
This is taken from Snapped Ankles’ second album, Stunning Luxury, due for release in March next year.
7. SAFIA – Starlight
With their intimate set of sold out East Coast tour dates behind them, SAFIA have revealed the multiverse video for their current single.
8. Iris Gold – Keep The Light On
The Danish-Jamaican songstress has dropped a brand video.
9. Touch Sensitive – G.A.L.
Michael Di Francesco, makes his return with an energetic new single and accompanying visuals, “G.A.L.” feat. Daniel Wilson.
10. Felix Cartal – Mood
Originally “Mood” came out in May as part of Felix Cartal’s “Next Season” album, but Felix felt like the story of the song needed to be completed, hence the idea to release a music video for it
