Getting to Know Dan Vogl

Melbourne-based indie-rock artist Dan Vogl has released his new single ‘Gifted In Gold’. We asked him to tell us about himself:

I am… Dan Vogl, a Melbourne based singer/songwriter and snowboarding enthusiast.

Gifted In Gold is… the title track from my debut EP. This song was written from frustration of other people accepting mediocre lives as ‘enough’ for themselves. We are taught as kids to dream big and reach for the stars, but once we become adults people are quick to slap responsibilities and restrictions on themselves and each other. My intention is to inspire people to push through these obstacles and pursue those goals no matter how hard or out of reach they may seem

Home is… Melbourne. Traveling the world I’ve found how truly lucky I am to have grown up in a city that gives so much diversity, culture, food and one pretty special music community. Go the Bombers!

I spend too much time… scrolling through snowboarding accounts on Instagram. @gimbalgod 😉

I’ve never… learnt my times tables. 4 x 4 is 44 yeah?

It might surprise people to learn that… I am a qualified Interior Designer. My mum and dad told me to go to uni to study something as a back up plan incase my music career didn’t work out. Kinda happy to stick with music to be honest. Sorry mum & dad.
