Our top ten tunes of the week – September 13
These are the ten songs that have been lighting our fireworks over the past seven days:
1. Grimes & i_o – Violence
Grimes has announced that her new album Miss_Anthrop0cene, the follow-up to her 2015 record Art Angels, is due out later this year.
2. Billie Eilish – all the good girls go to hell
In a statement to her fans on Instagram, Billie elaborated: “Right now, there are millions of people all over the world begging our leaders to pay attention. Our earth is warming up at an unprecedented rate, icecaps are melting, our oceans are rising, our wildlife is being poisoned and our forests are burning.”.
3. Winston Surfshirt – Smile
The Sydney-based funk, soul and R&B act have announced their second studio album, Apple Crumble, set for release this November.
4. girl in red – bad idea!
The Norwegian artist has just released her ‘chapter 2’ EP, which includes this brand new single.
5. FKA twigs – holy terrain feat. Future
This new track comes with the announcement of her new album MAGDALENE which will be released Friday 25 October.
6. prettything – Endless Blue
This is the brand new solo project from Bella Venutti, a voice and a face out of Melbourne you’ll recognise from IV League.
7. Ali Barter – January
This is the third track pulled off Ali’s second album, Hello I’m Doing My Best, which will land October 18.
8. Twen – Make Hard
Nashville-via-Boston DIY scene duo Twen will release their debut album later this month, here’s a taste.
9. Swedish Death Candy – Always
This is the third track taken from the band’s second album, Are You Nervous?, which is chalked for release on the 27th September.
10. Maddee – Dry
This is taken from her forthcoming debut six-track EP, ’Red Mind’, which is due for release this coming autumn.
