Photos: Hot Chip at The Enmore, Sydney
Remember when we all used to go to gigs? Those were fun times, weren’t they? Now, of course, it is absolutely imperative that we all stay indoors whenever possible, which means live music is out of the question, aside from the godsend that is Instagram Live (have you been watching Isol-aid over the weekend?).
The landscape has shifted so much that it’s really hard to believe that it was only a couple of weeks ago that the brilliant Hot Chip visited Australia, during which time they played at The Enmore Theatre in Sydney. Described by The Guardian as “the greatest British pop group of their generation”, the band played a triumphant show in Newtown as part of their Australia tour, where they delivered tunes from their latest album, A Bath Full Of Ecstasy.
They were brilliantly supported by Melbourne funk synthesist, Harvey Sutherland. We sent photographer, Heather Vousden, along to capture the magic. If you were there, relive the night by checking the photos below, and let’s hope we can start going to shows as great as this again in the not-too-distant future. Click the pics to enlarge.
