Our top ten tunes of the week – August 21

These are the songs that have been getting us going over the past seven days:

1. First Aid Kit – On the Road Again

This is a previously unreleased cover that the sisters made 7+ years ago. Proceeds will be donated to Crew Nation in support of the global touring community until everyone can actually be on the road again. Buy the song HERE.

2. Beach Riot – Wrong Impression

The Brighton fuzz-pop quartet are currently working on more new material— their first since the 2018 Beach Riot EP — with details to be announced over the coming months.

3. Sunship Balloon – 1224 Fantasia

The video for the single is the second in a trilogy set to come from the duo that will come together to further reveal the themes of the album as a whole. You can watch the previous video, A4 Life, here.

4. Tyne-James Organ – Hold Me Back

Drawing its lead from the song’s original inspiration of Tyne’s experiences with and relationship to the Me Too Movement, the video takes aim at domestic abuse.

5. Andy Golledge – Every Time I See Your Picture On My Telephone

The video was directed by Dylan River, the writer-director of the AACTA award winning SBS series Robbie Hood in which Andy Golledge starred, and wrote the soundtrack for.

6. CXLOE – One and Lonely

One and Lonely is all about loneliness. I spend a majority of the year away from my partner, and it always weighs on me heavily. This song talks about the endless flights and sleepless nights away from each other and how heavy this feeling is,” CXLOE explains.

7. Delta Spirit – Home Again

Here’s the latest track to be taken from upcoming album, What Is There, which is the band’s first in six years and is out on September 11th.

8. cookii – love yourself (spend forever)

This new single “is about spending big if it makes you feel good,” cookie tells us.

9. subcult – Suffocating

The Melbourne band’s new song was written around the bonfire at guitarist Ben’s house, about a relationship that vocalist Lex was 100% into, but the other person was being on-committal.

10. Sophia Amato – Glorious Mess

Check out the debut single from the London-based artist who is originally from Sicily.
