Interview: Getting to know KAI CULT

Melbourne-based DIY post-punk artist KAI CULT has just released his new single. We asked him to tell us about himself:

I am… KAI CULT, a one man Post Punk band from Melbourne Australia.

Massive Checks is… a dystopian party-punk song about the ironies that exist within the 9-5 work culture and also the expedited crumbling of the dominant capitalist system during the coronavirus pandemic.

Home is… My internet browser, and every website is a different universe!

I spend too much time… On the internet and reposting memes. 

I’ve never… Learnt to play piano properly! I usually transpose guitar parts onto my Midi Piano roll!

It might surprise people to learn that… I record all my music in my bedroom or car, and I have never spent money on a recording studio!
