Getting to know Blood Youth

Leeds-based hardcore quartet Blood Youth have returned with their new single, Iron Lung. We asked them to tell us about themselves:

We are… Blood Youth! A metal band from Leeds, England!

Iron Lung is… our brand-new single. This track is one of the heaviest songs we have ever written and a little taste of what’s on the way! We have been sitting on this song for so long, it was so sick to finally get it out there. I actually had to take the next day off in the studio after recording this one, it was one of the most difficult songs I have ever recorded vocals for.

Home is… a place where we can play Call of Duty ‘til 5 am.

I spend too much time… watching TV shows. I will have about five shows on the go at one time. I just started Game of Thrones for the second time, so that is really consuming me at the moment. Winter is coming.

I’ve never… been more stoked to release new music. We wrote and recorded just before the global pandemic hit, literally the week after we got back from the studio the UK went into lockdown. We tried to be as productive as possible, so we used all that time to really go over everything we recorded and now we’re ready for everybody to hear what we have been working on.

It might surprise people to learn that… the first live show I ever went to was the Spice Girls. Sick show.
