Interview: Getting to know Inoxia
Inoxia has just dropped her new single, Cherry. We asked her to tell us about herself:
I am… getting ready for work where I pack olives the day after my debut single release. I’m on such a high form process and now I’m completely switching up environments and heading to my labouring job. When I lived in Melbourne I always thought I’d be able to celebrate with my friends and family but the world always has other plans so I’m heading in to celebrate with my work besties.
Cherry is… really a self expression of confidence and control and overcoming the weaker parts of me. It my first track I’ve felt like i have complete creative control over and i learnt so many new skills recording it myself over zoom so its very special to me and I’m so happy that achievement is represented through the music.
Home is… somewhere I don’t think I’ve found yet, not the place any way. I know I FEEL most at home when I’m in my element. I think anywhere I can create or perform is home.
I spend too much time… looking at ridiculous product reviews with photos attached. I’m an absolute fiend. It’s something about the sheer honesty of these reviews that gets me. Like little reviews for crochet cat hats or self help book reviews where people are very open about how they haven’t been helped.
I’ve never… been able to use a sticky tape dispenser properly until about a month ago. the same with glad wrap and baking paper. I don’t know. I could never get the angle right and just continuously pulled until something would happen. But something wouldn’t happen and I’d be left with a giant ball of sticky tape in my hand.
The last 18 months have been… the most formative of my life. I have grown and changed and been challenged like never before. they’ve completely shaped me. I’ve released music for the first time, moved states away from friends and family in the middle of a pandemic and adopted a new kitten. I’ve thrown myself at responsibility and it’s only making me stronger.

In celebration of the single’s release, Inoxia will take to TikTok on Thursday 11 November at 7pm AEDT for a live, hour-long set where she’ll perform her new single live for the very first time.
