Our top ten tunes of the week – November 12

These are the songs that have been getting us going over the past week:

1. Isabella Manfredi – One Hit Wonder

Following the lauded release of her first solo single Jealousy, the Sydney musician returns with her second single, which is lifted from her forthcoming debut solo album, due next year.

2. Courtney Barnett – If I Don’t Hear From You Tonight

This is the fourth single to be lifted from Courtney’s highly-anticipated new album, Things Take Time, Take Time, which is out today.

3. JessB – FROM THA JUMP 

This track follows up on a string of remixes throughout 2021 as well as the New Zealand artist’s revered 2020 EP, 3 Nights in Amsterdam.

4. Hallie – Babysitter

Of the new tune, the singer-songwriter-producer says: “Babysitter is a fuck you to the patriarchy. I wrote it during a time when I was newly single and dating casually.”

5. Spoon – The Hardest Cut

This is the first single to be lifted from the legendary band’s highly anticipated new album, Lucifer on the Sofa, out February 11th, via Matador Records.

6. NewDad – Ladybird 

The band from the West Coast of Ireland have dropped their latest single, which arrives ahead of their forthcoming EP Banshee, coming early next year.

7. Daffodils – House Across The Street

The NZ band are currently putting the finishing touches on their second EP, alongside a string of festival appearances and tour dates including Le Currents, the Marlins Dreaming tour, and The Others Way Festival.

8. Harvey Sutherland — Jouissance

The groove-laden track takes its name from a term coined by psychoanalyst Jacques Lacan. “I learned the word from my therapist,” says HS. “There’s no easy English translation, but it’s the itch that demands scratching, a masochistic desire.”

9. will hyde – addicted.

The Melbourne/Naarm-based artist has dropped his new single, which is the fourth and final taste of his sophomore EP nothing ever changes, due for release on 10th December.

10. Greta Stanley – Close Call

The Cairns-based artist has dropped a new slice from her forthcoming sophomore album.
