Premiere: Ruth Koleva & Diggs Duke – Beyond Borders

We’re excited to today premiere the new track from Bulgarian-born, New York City based singer-songwriter Ruth Koleva. Beyond Borders features US singer and composer Diggs Duke.

Ruth says: “Beyond Borders is a project, which we started a few years ago with Diggs Duke and wanted to tell the story of how we could connect and feel close, even if we are far away apart. We started recording the song in the US and Amsterdam and ended up finishing it in a small mexican village and filmed the video in Sofia, Bulgaria. It’s truly a song about the universal language of music and how art does not see any borders”.

Koleva has previously shared the stage with legends like jazz vocalist Bobby McFerrin, enigmatic trip hop icon Tricky, dub legend Mad Professor, wooed kindred spirits like N’Dambi and Frank McComb and performed five sold-out concerts at Bulgaria Hall with the Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra.

Released in 2018, Koleva’s previous album Confidence.Truth offered fans a deeply personal collection of songs influenced by Ruth’s connection to soul and jazz.

The artist focuses on affecting positive change by raising awareness to causes she champions such as LGBTQ+ rights, equality for all, domestic violence and mental illness.
