Video premiere: JESSICA – Oh I See It 

We’re excited to today premiere the video for JESSICA’s new single, Oh I See It. The track is the first single to be released from the Sydney-based folk singer-songwriter’s second solo album, With Reverie.

Oh I See It is about onlooking and trying to understand someone else. The video accompanies the
song with quick and nostalgic VHS imagery as JESSICA sits at the piano, conversing to no one in
particular. The song and video conjure a sense of disillusionment and desperation that comes with being a spectator and observer to someone else’s destruction.

The track, and the whole album, was mostly recorded live during Sydney’s extensive lockdown in
2020 (a few harmonies later added). Longtime collaborator Darren Cross (Gerling, Jep and Dep, DC
Cross) recorded and produced the album. All 11 tracks feature Jessica at her piano, an instrument
she had not played since a child and relearnt during lockdown. Self-described as “Kate Bush on
Valium”, the album takes listeners on a sombre, euphoric, intimate ride into daydreams, thoughts, mind-trips and introspections.
