Getting to know Future Static
Naarm/Melbourne-based metal band Future Static have just dropped their new single, Venenosa. We asked them to tell us about themselves:
We are… Future Static, a five-piece band doing our own blend of metalcore, hardcore, prog and whatever we think sounds sick.
‘Venenosa’ is… leaning hard into our heavy side, letting Amariah explore memories of feeling toxicity in herself and her life and coming out the other side better for it.
Home is… in Melbourne, with each other in a practice room and playing cool music.
We spend too much time… making obscure and incomprehensible inside jokes. Don’t ask, you don’t want to know.
We’ve never… played a bad show. (Jokes, apologies to all those who attended the youth show at Hoppers Crossing – thanks for keeping it a secret).
It might surprise people to learn that… there’s a good chance the manor we filmed the Venenosa video in was actually haunted.
