London’s Wide Awake festival reveals first acts for 2023
We don’t want to wish our lives away, but we’re already looking forward to next May, because that’s when the excellent Wide Awake festival will be returning to London for its latest outing.
And to get us even more excited about 2023’s Wide Awake – which takes place in Brockwell Park – the first wave of acts has been announced.
Heading to the indie/post-punk/Electro/techno/jazz festival next year will be… drum roll please…
A Place To Bury Strangers, Arooj Aftab, Erol Alkan, Gilla Band, Glass Beams, Habibi Funk, Lebanon Hanover, Madmadmad, Osees, Sunset Rollercoaster, Ty Segall, and Σstella.
Obviously there are heaps more artists to be unveiled, but that looks like a pretty darn strong start to us!
The fest will take place on May 27th 2023 in SW London. And, as we all know, South West is best!
Brought to life by some of Field Day’s original founders, Bad Vibrations, LNZRT and the creators behind some of London’s most iconic, small music venues: MOTH Club and The Shacklewell Arms this festival has been consummated through an adoration of music and a long history of exhilitating live shows across each of the sites.
This year’s Wide Awake saw Primal Scream, Faye Webster and Yard Act perfom, while the year before featured a triumphant hometown gig from Shame, as well as stunning sets from the likes of Self Esteem and black midi.
With equality and diversity being a core to their ethos, Wide Awake are committed to a line-up consisting of at least 50% women or underrepresented genders.
It also has a strong policy for sustainability and reducing its carbon footprint.
Wide Awake will take place on Saturday 27th May 2023 at Brockwell Park, London. Early bird tickets are from £39.50 and on sale at DiceFM.
