Getting to Know The Last Martyr
Metalcore band The Last Martyr have shared their new single, Requiem. We asked them to tell us about themselves:
We are… The Last Martyr, a cyberpop metal band from Naarm/Melbourne, Australia!
‘Requiem’ is… a love story between the Earth and humans. All the Earth/Mother Nature wanted was to nurture her inhabitants, but sadly, we have taken her love for granted. We’ve become disconnected, destroying the planet with pollution, war and capitalism. The song tells the story from both the perspectives of the planet and people, and in the end, we find nature is as vengeful as she is beautiful.
Home is… on stage or in a rehearsal studio.
We spend too much time… quoting The Simpsons or random TikToks.
We’ve never… written a song by jamming old school style. We live on opposite ends of the city, so everything is written in pieces separately and put together in the studio. It works!
