Getting to know The High Kings
One of Ireland’s most beloved folk bands, The High Kings, are touring Australia soon. We asked them to tell us about themselves:
We are… a folk band from Ireland, and we’re currently touring Europe, USA, Canada, New Foundland and will be hitting Australia in September. We gained significant attention around the world after our version of The Rocky Road to Dublin was featured on the 2025 horror film Sinners, the global box office hit that reached #1 worldwide, and starred Michael B. Jordan in dual leading roles – so cool.
2025 has so far been… a very busy and joyful year touring and trying to get our new music to the fans and always trying to build on our fanbase.
Our upcoming tour… will be full of life, enjoyment, excitement and will be one to remember.
Home is where the heart is… my home is in County Laois in the Midlands of Ireland..When our tour is over it’s always nice to be going back home and spend time with family.
We spend too much time… thinking and worrying about how new albums might do or how a new song might do when actually it always works out that everybody loves our albums and anything else we do as in new songs or videos..
We never… get tired of playing in front of our fantastic fans of all ages..from small babies to people in their 70’s,80’s and 90’s..It’s a joy to see so many people of all ages at our shows.
