TV on the Radio in Sydney – photos and review

TV on the Radio returned to Australia last night after far too many years away, and Sydney’s Enmore Theatre greeted them like family walking back through the door. From the instant they stepped onstage, every band member was smiling—genuine, wide, grateful smiles that never faded. The room felt warm, loud, and overflowing with love.
They opened with “Young Liars,” instantly locking the audience in. “Golden Age” and “Lazer Ray” kept the energy rising, the band sounding lean, sharp, and completely dialled in. “Happy Idiot” landed like a jolt, and “Dreams”shimmered across the room with the kind of lift that makes you forget anything exists outside the theatre walls.

The middle of the set shifted gears beautifully. “Wolf Like Me” growled with tension, “Stork and Owl” slowed the heart rate, and “Could You” spun the crowd right back into motion. “Love Dog” was a standout—vulnerable, heavy, and sung like the band still feels every beat of it.
Then came the knockout punch: “DLZ.” The entire floor roared it back at the band, a full-body release. “Shout Me Out” and “Satellite” stretched that momentum into something almost ecstatic.
The final run—“Ambulance,” “Trouble,” and “Staring at the Sun”—felt like a deliberate cooldown, a slow landing after an hour of emotional freefall.

It wasn’t just a gig; it felt like a reunion, a reminder of why this band matters. TV on the Radio didn’t just return—they made it worth every year we waited.
