Our top ten tunes of the month – Feb 2026

Here are ten songs that we’ve been loving at the start of 2026. Check out these absolute crackers:

1. Courtney Barnett – Mantis

The Aussie legend has dropped not one but two new singles, both of which feature on her fourth studio album, Creature of Habit, to be released on March 27th.

2. Courtney Barnett – Sugar Plum

As with many tracks on the new album, the song deals with Courtney’s struggle with self-doubt, before a sense of optimism and wonder wins out.

3. Lucky – Biting Heels

The Melbourne based artist has dropped the title track from her upcoming debut EP, Biting Heels, which is out 10th April.

4. FLESH PLANET – Big Machine

The Yorkshire newcomers’ new track is the latest to be taken from their forthcoming debut EP, // first flesh, which will be released on 27th March 2026.

5. Tilly Valentine – Tornado

Tilly describes the new single as “a song I wrote to the voice in my head; an anthem for crashing out, unpacking overthinking and spiralling thoughts through soul, dance-pop and jazz-house.”

6. Modern Woman – Neptune Girl

This is taken from the upcoming album, Johnny’s Dreamworld, out in May.

7. YNG Martyr – REAL GEEK

The Australian rapper’s forthcoming album CHALANT is out Friday March 27th.

8. Lasca Dry – Behave

The Tasmanian indie-rock artist’s new single is the second release from her forthcoming debut EP, Time Keeps Drifting, arriving April 9th.

9. Loose Content – Big Bright Burning Sun

The Melbourne band have been impressing some heavy hitters, including Blur’s Dave Rowntree, who name-dropped them as an act he loved at Bigsound 2025.

10. Chloe Gill – Pushing Punishment

This new single will feature on the Newcastle artist’s forthcoming debut album, I Have A Habit of Dreaming, due for release on March 12th.
