A free Kate Nash song for her Friends

A couple of months back, we brought you a new release from Kate Nash. It was the most punky, grungy thing she’d ever released and we rather fell in love with it. Well, now she’s back with another song. Taken from her upcoming EP, Fri-end has the kind of catchy vocal hook that Nash typically crafts and the tune perhaps lands between her previous Hole-tastic offering and the guitar-led tracks from her last long-player. The video, meanwhile, is like Thriller’s gone vintage shopping in London’s East End.

We’ve said this before but it’s worth repeating… there are plenty of people happy to write Kate Nash off as merely being the girl who sang that song about your friends being much fittah, but her desire to push her own boundaries while consistently delivering well-observed stories of the zeitgeist make her a genuinely interesting and relevant artist. So, you know, don’t underestimate her.
