Do something amazing today…

Yesterday was Red Nose Day in the UK. It is a massive charity event which sees people “do something funny for money”. The country’s comedy and celebrity talent comes together for one massive TV extravaganza. Last night we saw Ricky Gervais reprising his role as David Brent, while Russell Brand, David Walliams, Jonathan Ross, Dawn French, Jennifer Saunders, Rowan Atkinson, Michael McIntyre and the like all did their thing. Singer Jessie J even shaved her head live on telly and Smithy from Gavin & Stacey gave a typically impassioned plea. But, while the charity is known as Comic Relief, as always, it is the documentary footage that makes you want to pick up the phone and donate. One Direction went to Africa and struggled to cope with what they saw, Rob Brydon witnessed the horrifying effects of pneumonia, Brenda Blethyn broke down in tears at a hospital. It was heart-breaking stuff.

Anyway, thus far the total money raised stands at over £75 million. Incredible generosity in this tough financial climate. If you haven’t given yet then you still donate here. Comic Relief is there to allow normal people like you and me to help change the lives of people less fortunate than us. We’re not going to fix every problem in the world, but our money can literally save a life, stop someone being abused, give hope to a children who are starving, who were born with HIV, who won’t get any governmental help and support and for whom your money is literally the difference between life and death. Give whatever you can here.
