Getting to know Crocodylus

Crocodylus have recently released the surf drenched, garage rock single ‘My Love’ and announced a run of launch dates. We asked them to tell us about themselves:

We are… Crocodylus, a three-piece garage rock band entering individual ear holes since 2015. Consisting of Josh “Joozway” Williams on bass and vocals, Stephen “Sacdaddies” Sacco on guitar and vocals and Mikel “Kelly” Salvador on drums.

“My Love” is… our hot new single recorded by Owen Penglis from straight arrows. It has a 60’s garage vibe and was written when listening to the Frowning Clouds and Straight Arrows. I even stole a lyric from Owen, don’t think he was too impressed. It also has a cameo from Broc of Rosa Maria on backing vocals.

Our upcoming tour will be… our biggest headline shows yet and we can’t wait. Got so many good bands playing with us we don’t know how we’re gonna follow up. Haven’t done any headline shows out of Sydney after we toured with Skegss which definitely grew our audience, so it will be interesting to see how we go!

Home is… on Sydney’s northern beaches where the waves are big. Just kidding, we don’t surf. Jooz and Kel are 5 minutes apart and Steve is just 10 minutes down the road so it makes it easy to meet up. It’s pretty central seeing as the city is only half and hour away and in the middle of Melbourne and Queensland. The live music scene on the beaches isn’t too hot at the minute but we are hoping it picks up because it has so much potential.

We spend too much time… thinking about practising but never doing it. We all work everyday, so it’s hard to fit in but we have been playing the same set for more than a year so we kinda got the hang of it. I think?

We’ve never… been to Western Australia. We’re hoping to get there this year sometime. Our buddies The Jim Mitchells told us it’s poppin’ off over there, so we’d love to do a weekend down there soon and see old mates Stork.

It might surprise people to learn that… Jooz works as a gardener, was school captain in primary school and is allergic to cats (so don’t bring em to our shows). Sac works as a cabinet maker, hasn’t got a Crocodylus tattoo (Jooz and Kel do) and is a professional at Mario Kart and Kel works with the fences you see surrounding festivals, is Venezuelan and loves to read (nerd) . We collectively hate shoeys.
