Getting To Know Charlie Lim

Ahead of his performances at BIGSOUND, Singapore-based indie-electronic artist Charlie Lim has released his new single ‘Welcome Home’. We asked him to tell us about himself:

I am… Charlie Lim, I’m a singer-songwriter/producer from Singapore.

‘Welcome Home’ is… an ode to overthinking. It’s my first single since my last album and is quite a departure from what I was doing before. The song was produced with my friend Yeo, who’s from Australia! He’s one of my favourite songwriters and producers and I’m glad I got to work with him on this record. My upcoming show at BIGSOUND will be… really really special. I’m already incredibly excited for it! You can come and check out my sets on the 4th September at 9pm at The Flying Cock or at the Hear65 Singapore Showcase on the 5th September at Ric’s Big Backyard, which kicks off at 5pm.

Home is… where I can lie in bed and scroll through the front page of Netflix and be indecisive about what to watch.

I spend too much time… weighing up options and brooding about what the solution is.

I’ve never… played BIGSOUND!

It might surprise people to learn that… I lived in Melbourne for 7 years, and Australia is my second home as my family lives there.
