Our top ten tunes of the week – June 21
These are the ten songs that have been buttering our bread over the past seven days:
1. Tropical Fuck Storm – Paradise
The brilliant Tropical Fuck Storm have dropped the opening track to their second studio album, Braindrops, which is out August 23 via Flightless Records.
2. DZ Deathrays – IN-TO-IT
This is lifted off their forthcoming fourth studio album Positive Rising: Part 1 which will land on Friday 30 August.
3. The Garden – Thy Mission
Directed by Nadia Lee Cohen and Charlie Denis, the video for The Garden’s “Thy Mission” features Mac DeMarco, casting the Canadian singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist as devilish chat show host.
4. Robyn – Ever Again
Robyn worked on the video with director Colin Solal Cardo and long time collaborator choreographer Maria ‘Decida’ Wahlberg. She wears a Louis Vuitton outfit designed by Nicholas Ghesquierre especially for the video.
5. Cassels – The Leaking Ark
The London duo offer a searing rumination on the human mistreatment and exploitation of animals.
6. Alex Cameron – Divorce
Alex will release his third album, Miami Memory, on September 13th via Secretly Canadian, and tour Europe and North America immediately after.
7. Mini Mansions – I’m In Love
This is the latest single to be taken from their forthcoming album ‘Guy Walks Into A Bar…‘,
8. Love Deluxe – Campari and Coke
Love Deluxe has announced that his second EP, Fata Morgana, will be released to the world on Friday 2 August.
9. Iris Gold – A Lot To Give
Rising Danish soul-pop singer-songwriter Iris Gold is poised to release her debut album this summer and has pre-empted its release with a new video.
10. Fergus James – What Are We Waiting For
Fresh off the road from supporting Meg Mac on her sold-out Australian tour, here’s Fergus’ new single.
