Getting to know Philadelphia Grand Jury
Aussie indie legends, Philadelphia Grand Jury, are back with their new single, Nervous Breakdown. We asked bassist MC Bad Genius to tell us more:
I am… MC Bad Genius.
Nervous Breakdown is… our new single that seems strangely perfect for the times in which we live. Hopefully it’s not completely relatable, because nervous breakdowns are not fun. It’s the first in a string of singles to be released this year, leading up to our third album, which is tentatively due in
February of next year.
Home is… where I have spent the last few months of my life thanks to this
bloody virus.
I spend too much time… eating. According to (frontman) Berkfinger, I’m the slowest eater in the history of humanity and although I truly believe in savouring the moment, I could probably afford to speed it up a little.
Iʼve never… played a show where something hasn’t broken. If it’s not a bass
string, it’s a lead. If it’s not a lead, it’s one of the keys on the keyboard. If it’s
not one of the keys, it’s someone’s heart.
It might surprise people to learn that… I’m completely sober at every show, despite all the evidence pointing to the contrary. Things just … happen.

‘Nervous Breakdown’ is available now through Normal People Making Hits. Keep up to date with the band on Insta.
