Our top ten tunes of the week – August 7

These are the songs that have been lighting our fireworks over the past seven days:

1. Tame Impala – Is It True

This track is lifted from The Slow Rush, Kevin Parker’s fourth album as Tame Impala. Tame Impala’s rescheduled tour of Aus/NZ will commence in December.

2. Cut Copy – Like Breaking Glass

The band’s sixth studio album Freeze, Melt is set for release on August 21. Here’s the latest single to be taken from it.

3. Oliver Malcolm – The Machine

Check out the new one from the 20 year-old singer-songwriter-producer, who grew up in London and is now based in LA.

4. Yves Paquet – 25-28

Here’s the new song from Belgian artist and songwriter Yves Paquet. The video was directed by French visual artist and motion designer Jules Guérin.

5. Snow Coats – Navy Blue

The Dutch indie pop quartet will release their debut EP Pool Girl on 11th September via Alcopop! Records. Here’s their new single.

6. Camille Christel – All I Ever Do (Berlin, Solo)

The Nottingham singer-songwriter has dropped the final song from her You EP.

7. Jack Bratt – The Outsider

The recent winner of the Grant McLennan Fellowship award is working on his new album, which will feature his standout single from earlier this year, Spades, and is set for release in 2021.

8. Siv Jakobsen – A Feeling Felt or a Feeling Made

Siv’s LP is scheduled for August 21st and her UK/EU release tour will now take place next March, with new dates in Birmingham and Leeds added to the original run.

9. ellie d. – Bedtime

The LA-based dream/alt-pop artist says of the song, “I’m a pretty positive person, but my thoughts run wild at night. Anxiety takes over me and it feels like time is racing. But bedtime is also when I’m most inspired, and I write my best music. This song is about searching for balance between those two sides.”

10. GG Magree – Nervous Habits (feat. Joey Fleming)

The Australian artist has teamed up with In Her Own Words lead singer Joey Fleming on this new single.
