Our top ten tunes of the week – November 2
These are the songs that have been getting us going over the past seven days:
1. Julia Stone – Dance
Eight years after Julia’s last solo record, her hotly anticipated new album Sixty Summers will be released on February 19. Check out her brand new video, featuring none other than multi award-winning actors Susan Sarandon and Danny Glover!
2. Karen O & Willie Nelson – Under Pressure
This cover was produced by TV On The Radio’s Dave Sitek and also features Nick Zinner, Imaad Wasif, Johnny Hanson and Priscilla Ahn. Of the track, Karen O says, “I can’t listen to this song without tearing up every time Willie comes in, one of the purest voices which of course reflects a pure heart, and I get to sing alongside it. I hope the song brings as much light to the listener as it has to me in dark times.”
3. Jess Locke – Destroy Everything
The Melbourne-based singer-songwriter’s forthcoming album Don’t Ask Yourself Why will be released on Friday 26 March, 2021.
4. DZ Deathrays – Fired Up
The highly anticipated follow-up album to 2019’s Positive Rising: Part 1 will be released Friday 9th July 2021 via Alcopop! Records (UK) and IOHYOU (AUS). Here’s their new single.
5. Eliott – Home
This new video features members of Eliott’s family hearing the song for the first time.
6. Kinkora – You Got Me
Following on from her debut track, the Melbourne-based singer-songwriter has returned with her follow up slice.
7. JessB – Bullseye
Following the recent release of her acclaimed 3 Nights In Amsterdam mixtape, the Auckland-based rapper has dropped a new video.
8. Stevan – Onyx
Stevan has also announced new headline shows, playing two sessions at Mary’s Underground in Sydney in November and a hometown show in Wollongong in December.
9. Silly Boy Blue – Goodbye
Silly Boy Blue (real name, Ana Benabdelkarim) is an indie pop singer from France. She has just finished her debut album, which is set for release in 2021.
10. Bailey Judd – Heartbreak Debris
The Melbourne-based artist’s first single will be followed by EP-length release, October Song Dump, on the 6th November.
