Our top ten tunes of the week – February 26

These are the songs that have been on constant rotation in our office over the past seven days:

1. Crowded House – To The Island 

This is taken from the band’s much anticipated, forthcoming album Dreamers Are Waiting, which will be available in June. They will be touring NZ next month.

2. Cautious Clay – Roots

Singer, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Josh Karpeh has released his third single from his highly-anticipated debut album.

3. Arab Strap – Here Comes Comus! 

This is lifted from the duo’s long-awaited seventh studio album, As Days Get Dark, which comes out in March.

4. JESSICA – Silence 

The Sydney folk artist, best known as one half of Jep and Dep with Darren Cross (Gerling), released her debut album The Space Between last year.

5. Ed Rome – Safe Place

Ed’s new album of Afrobeat and Funk, entitled ‘Common Ancestry’ will be released on the 15th of April. Here’s the first song from it.

6. Big Scary – Stay

After a break of over four years between album releases, the Australian duo have announced their fourth LP Daisy, which drops at the end of April.

7. Charlie Clark ‘Don’t Have A Cow, Man!’

The track offers a first glimpse of Clark’s forthcoming debut solo album, Late Night Drinking, to be released later in 2021 via Alan McGee’s latest label venture, It’s Creation Baby.

8. David M. Western – Take Your Opportunities

This is the second track to be lifted from the Melbourne artist’s forthcoming debut album, due later in the year.

9. Ben Foskett – Believe Me

The track is the latest to be taken from the France-based composer’s debut solo album, Songs of Searching, which is set for release on 30th March 2021.

10. Stubborn Heart – Talking Gold

Returning with their first new music in 8 years, the duo have announced that their new album ‘Made Of Static’, will be released in June.
