Getting to know Sammy Honeysett
Sydney-based singer-songwriter Sammy Honeysett has just revealed her new single, I C UR LIPS. We asked her to tell us about herself:
I am… singer-songwriter, Sammy Honeysett from West Sydney! Writing tracks about your ups & downs, heartbreaks and romances.
‘I C UR LIPS’ is… my lead single off my EP ‘Queen of Wands’ (out Thursday April 1st). A track about the pure frustration of seeing the real side of someone, it’s a song about that gut feeling you know the truth, but you just want them to say it to you. When writing the song, the concept came from text messages being exchanged between my best friend & her ex at the time, she kept saying how ‘cold’ he’d become and that she just wishes he spit out the truth… it was a feeling I knew all too well and one I know many girls will relate too.

I spend too much time… writing songs about my life at all hours!!!! And Facetiming Alicia Brock.
I’ve never… taken the bins out.
It might surprise people to learn that… it was my childhood dream to go to the Olympics! I’d probably still be running the 400M hurdles if I didn’t have a bad knee.
