Getting To Know Taylor B-W

Taylor B-W is an emerging pop/r&b artist from Sydney, who has just released her second single of 2021. We asked her to tell us about herself:

I am… always trying to remember what I’ve forgotten to do!

I’m So Broke is… the name of my latest single. It is about feeling broken inside and not feeling adequate enough in all aspects of life.  I suppose most people will just think it’s about having no money though, which is also fine. The music has a real 90s vibe, which is what I’m all about and the music video is trippy and fun!

Home is… the Inner West of Sydney. I grew up there, I still live there (house-sharing, not with my folks, although they live just around the corner from me) and I cannot imagine my life without the vibrant community that is there. I feel like I can be totally inhibited and free in my community, which is so comforting.

My other home is New Zealand – it is the Motherland and all my family, except my parents, live there.

I spend too much time… feeling anxious about what I’m feeling anxious about.

I’ve never… been into a tattoo parlour… which means I do not have any tattoos! But I really want a small one, one day.

The last 12 months have been… surprisingly productive! I have been in and out of the studio writing and recording new music that I am very excited to release this year!

It might surprise people to learn that… I am a qualified zookeeper! I trained in 2017 when I was taking a break from the entertainment industry and turning my focus outward to the world around me, rather than inward. Animal conservation is one of my biggest passions and, although music called me back, I have an ulterior motive to use my music in an effort to help the conservation fight!
