Getting To Know Rachael Fahim

Following the release of her single Darts in the Dark, pop-country artist Rachael Fahim tells us a little about herself:

I am… Rachael Fahim. I grew up in Sydney, NSW, in a little suburb about 40 minutes from the city called Cherrybrook. Whenever I have told people I make country music, the first question is, “how did a city girl get into country music?!” Of course, city girls can be country too, although technically I live closer to the country than the city!

My parents named me after the actress, Rachael Ward. Mum said she thought Rachael was beautiful, and the name just stuck with her, so I guess I have Rachael Ward to thank for the unusual spelling!

Darts in the Dark is… a song about taking a step back and enjoying the curve balls life can throw at you. It’s about really appreciating the moment and knowing that you’re on your own journey!

Home is… wherever my oodie is. My favourite thing to do when I am at home, relaxing, is to put my oodie on and watch Netflix while curled up on the lounge or in bed. Maxo relaxo.

I spend too much time… on my phone!! I feel like this is such a generic answer these days, but oh lorddyyyyy, it’s bad! I always feel so much pressure to respond to people and engage on socials because it’s my job, so I find it really hard to switch off. It’s literally the first thing I do when I wake up and the last thing before I go to sleep. It’s almost like I’ve never heard of balance before.. haha

I’ve never… gone sky diving or ever want. Nope. No thank you. Bye.
The thought of doing this or anything to do with heights scares the hell out of me. I’d rather not, hey!

It might surprise people to learn that… I still have three baby teeth! Random fact, I know, but they’re there to stay. If they ever did fall out one day, I still expect the tooth fairy to come. I also expect more than $2 because of inflation please xoxo I need to fund my next single!

Keep up to date with Rachael on Insta.
