GRAE’s top five Prince songs

Canadian alt-pop artist GRAE recently released her latest single Boxes, taken from her debut record Whiplash, which is out now. You can check out the new song further down the page, but first she has shared with us her five favourite Prince tunes, because we could all use a little Prince in our day, couldn’t we?

Top 5 Prince Songs

Pink Cashmere

I don’t know what it is about this song; it makes me cry so much. I think it’s so beautiful. Whenever I listen to it, I’m honestly in awe.

The Love We Make

This is such an emotion-filled song. You can feel it. The instrumentation is stunning, and Prince’s vocals really hit you.

Colonized Mind

The guitar on this track is so smooth and makes you get lost in the music. I have listened to this song so many times I’ve lost count. The lyrical content is still so relevant to this day.

I Would Die 4 U – Extended Version

This is one of my favourite songs, but the extended version hits different. It inspires me, especially when putting together my own live sets. I love how he builds up all the instruments and creates a vibe. I always get in a good mood when I listen to it.

How Come You Don’t Call Me Anymore

I love a stripped-down song, and Prince kills it every time. I love the soulfulness in his voice and the piano and just the overall rawness of the track.
