Getting to know Sea Animals In Seattle

Eora/Sydney-based collective Sea Animals In Seattle have recently unveiled their new track, Busy Doing Things, featuring American rapper RXKNephew. We asked them to tell us about themselves:

We are … Sea Animals In Seattle, a delightfully quirky indie-punk collective based in Sydney. We record and produce all our own music in a vacant office space in an industrial warehouse that we’ve crowned: ‘Sea World’

Busy Doing Things is… the amalgamation of RXK’s stream of consciousness style of rapping and a 15-minute synthesizer jam, which was cut down to a tight 2 and a half minutes. It’s essentially chaos… organised.

Home is … Sea World, which we’ve turned into our own DIY music studio, and LA Studios, an awesome rehearsal space in Western Sydney. Basically, anywhere we can jam.

We spend too much time… not organising everyone to jam.

We’ve never… gigged together as a band, but we have gigged in our separate bands, supporting acts such as Northlane, Justice for the Damned, and Stand Atlantic

It might surprise people to learn… that the world’s largest snowflake on record was 15 inches wide and 8 inches thick, falling in Fort Keogh, Montana on January 28, 1887.

Keep up to date with the band on Insta.
