DEFTONES AUSTRALIA & NEW ZEALAND TOUR 2026

Sacramento’s own Deftones are finally returning Down Under, with special guests Ecca Vandal and Interpol.

In May 2026, the multi-platinum, GRAMMY® Award-winning icons Deftones will headline a massive arena run across Australia and New Zealand with support from genre-bending Aussie star Ecca Vandal and post-punk legends Interpol. This marks the band’s first headline tour in Australia and New Zealand in nearly a decade, since their full arena run in 2016 and follows a standout performance at Good Things Festival in 2022.

Since exploding out of Sacramento in 1988, Deftones have forged a career on their own terms  with a sound that sits somewhere between raw heaviness and atmospheric beauty. Decades deep, they’ve sold over 10 million albums worldwide, racked up 10 billion streams, and earned a devoted global following for their emotional intensity and genre-defying style.

Their catalog includes classics like the Grammy-winning White Pony, the platinum Diamond EyesKoi No Yokan and Ohms, records that have defined alternative and heavy music for generations. In 2025, Deftones delivered their tenth studio album, Private Music, debuting in the upper ranks of the Billboard charts and earning praise as one of the band’s most adventurous works yet.

For many fans, these shows won’t just be concerts they’ll be reunions with a soundtrack that shaped formative years and continues to evolve with every new record.

Expect an explosive opening performance from Melbourne’s own Ecca Vandal, a fierce artist whose sound fuses punk, hip-hop, soul, electronic and rock into a high-octane live force. Born in South Africa to Sri Lankan parents and raised in Melbourne’s vibrant music scene, Ecca has quickly become one of Australia’s most dynamic performers, earning critical acclaim for her bold creativity and unrelenting stage energy. Her 2017 self-titled debut drew rave reviews, and recent singles like “Cruising to Self Soothe” and “Molly” showcase her fearless evolution. She’s shared stages with Queens of the Stone Age, Incubus, The Prodigy and more, and her presence on this bill promises pure adrenaline and eclectic brilliance.

Joining Deftones with a very different but equally compelling vibe is Interpol, the New York City post-punk outfit whose brooding, atmospheric sound became a cornerstone of the early 2000s indie rock renaissance. Their acclaimed debut Turn On The Bright Lights helped define an era with its moody melodies and haunting intensity, influencing countless artists since. Whether you’re revisiting classics like “Obstacle 1” or soaking in their newer material, Interpol’s set will be a rich, cinematic journey through one of indie rock’s most enduring catalogs.
