Converge announce Australia and NZ tour

Massachusetts hardcore band Converge will return to Australia and New Zealand in March 2027 for a tour that has heavy music fans peaking. It’s their first Australian tour since 2019, and it includes a sold-out appearance at Melbourne’s inaugural Lucidity Festival on 13 March, where they’ll play their 2001 album Jane Doe in full for its 25th anniversary.

Jacob Bannon, Kurt Ballou, Nate Newton and Ben Koller have never been a subtle live band. Expect controlled chaos, bruising riffs and the kind of intensity that makes standing near the front a questionable life choice. With 2 albums released in 2026, Aussie fans get their first chance to see new music in 5 years.

They bring with them bands that will melt faces and only add to the high degree of energy and heaviness. Joining them on most shows are Perth’s Extortion, bringing their powerviolence and thrash vibes, Melbourne’s Ends In Tragedy adding in a sprinkle of Aussie style metalcore and  all the way from the states, Portrayal of Guilt round it out with their abrasive, industrial-tinged screamo.

Converge has been going for more than three decades, and 2026 has been one of their busiest years in a while, with two albums in four months. Love Is Not Enough and Hum of Hurt have received widespread acclaim from critics and fans alike. For a band whose first release was 1994, that is a remarkable achievement to still be producing high calibre music for the fans who have been there for decades.
